TRUE LEGEND selected for Berlin International Film Festival 2010-02-11 updated The Berlin International Film Festival has earlier announced the latest films being entered into the festival. TRUE LEGEND is selected for the Berlinale Special Section. As it is the 60th anniversary of the Film Festival, Director Yuen is going to bring along this film, his first in 13 years, to celebrate, which is very special. The selection of TRUE LEGEND not only shows that the film has drawn attention from the film selection committee, it also demonstrates the European industry professionals has expressed particular interest in the film, which was invited to one of the European three big film markets (the other being Cannes and Venice film festivals). Ten years ago, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" shocked the film critics all over the globe with its unique presentation of the martial arts world, the film also allowed foreign audience to understand more about Chinese Wuxia movies. However, Director Yuen was not satisfied only with Chinese Kung Fu, he has participated in the action choreography of the movies "The Matrix" and "Kill Bill", which have successfully turned Keanu Reeves and Uma Thurman into action movie stars, redefining the action moves for Hollywood. It’s not hard to imagine that the European filmmakers, movie critics and the media are falling for Director Yuen's fame and looking forward to the first 3-D Chinese Wuxia film. No wonder the film distributor for TRUE LEGEND, Edko films Ltd., also believes the film is showing great prospects in Europe. While the movie causes widespread attention, the only leading actress in the film, Zhou Xun, has won great approval from the film selection committee with her touching acting skill. The film selection committee also hopes that Zhou Xun will appear in the Berlin premiere of TRUE LEGEND and attends the film’s press conference.
